The MDP B-Series magnetic interlocking dipstick does two things the factory unit can't: it locks into place so it won't back out under crankcase pressure, and its rare-earth magnetic tip captures fine metallic particles circulating in your oil. Check the magnet at every oil change and you have an early warning system for bearing and ring wear before it becomes a serious problem.
